How to get to National Library from ...

  Address: Tõnismägi 2

Hotel "Palace"

- you are almost there. Exiting, turn left from main entrance and walk 200 m uphill.

Hotel "Mihkli"

- you are almost there, walk 200 m uphill on Endla street.

Hotel "Olympia"

- walking or by bus.
Walking - Exiting from hotel, turn left, take third street right (Kentmanni) and walk ~1 km, you will arrive to Vabaduse square where hotel "Palace" stands. National Library is 200 m in the same direction.

By bus - Exiting, turn left, you will find bus stop. All buses except NO 3 going there will take you to Vabaduse square (two stops). Find hotel "Palace" and follow directions above.

Hotel Viru

-walking or by tram or by bus
Walking - Exiting from hotel, turn left and walk ~400 M until you reach to hotel Palace. The following is as above.

By bus - one stop by any bus or tram is safe, you will end up on Vabaduse square, find hotel Palace and do as described above.

Hotel "Park"

- walking or by bus
Walking - take direction to center on Gonsiori street, after couple of crossings (just go over) the street name changes to Estonia pst. Finally you will arrive to Vabaduse square (~1.2 km). Find hotel "Palace" and follow the directions above.

By bus - there is no one bus solution. You can go with bus NO. 98 to end-stop "Kaubamaja" and from there two stops with trolley bus 1 or 3. The stop "Tõnismäe" is aside to National Library, walk back 50 m and cross the street.

Hotel "Stroomi"

- by bus No. 40. The bus stop near the hotel is "Randla". You have to exit in stop "Tõnismägi" which takes about 15-20 minutes. You will be just in front of National Library.

University student hotel

- by trolley bus No. 3. or by express bus #91. The bus stop near the student hotel is "Keemia". You have to exit in stop "Tõnismägi" which takes about 25 minutes by trolley bus. Trolley bus stop is just in front of National Library, the express bus stop is 50 m farther.

How to get to Town Hall

The rules are similar as getting to National Library, only the starting spot is Vabaduse square (stop "Vabaduse väljak"). The street "Harju" you have to find is in opposite of hotel Palace over the Vabaduse square. Following the street ~200 m you will arrive to Town Hall square where Town Hall is.

How to get to Glehn's castle

Glehn's castle is about 7 km from town center, the best way to get there from center is by taxi.
We have ordered a bus starting to Glehn's castle in front of National Library exactly 19.00.
One can start in front of Tallinn Technical University taking bus #10 until stop "Tähetorni" (6-th stop) and walking then through Glehn's park.
Alternatively you can walk starting from TTU student hotel, following streets Raja, Trummi, Lossi, Trepi (going uphill).

How to get to tutorial in Tallinn Technical University

Tallinn Technical University is about 5 km from town center. You can get there by trolley bus #3 or by express bus #91 from Vabaduse square or stop "Kaubamaja", near to main department store. You have to exit (trolley bus) in stop "Ehitajate tee", cross the street and go by walking path cross in between pine-trees. After 150 m you will reach in front of university main building (one more street crossing). Follow signs "FPL'98 tutorial" until room NO. VI-121.

Alternatively, you can exit in next stop "Keemia" (express bus and trolley bus), cross the street and go between student hotel buildings to university from behind. It is shorter way to get to tutorial on Thursday which takes part in room NO. VI-121.

Public transport

Tickets are valid in buses, in trams and in trolley buses.
Tickets can be obtained in stands. One-way public transport fare is 5 EEK. Tickets can be obtained from driver, but then the price is 7 EEK.
10-day card costs 70 EEK, you can choose....

In express lines #91 and #92 driver collects fare 6 EEK per one-way trip.

The sure spots where you can find stands selling public transport tickets are on Vabaduse square and on Kaubamaja street, near to major department store.

The frequency of public transport is enough high, timetables for buses are available in bus-stops. Most of public transport is active from 6 a.m. until midnight.
