Xputer Lab Pages on the History of FPL
the International Conference on Field-Programmable Logic and Applications

The aim of this conference is to bring together workers from throughout the world for a wide ranging discussion of all forms of reconfigurability and their applications, including, but not limited to: industrial applications, advanced EDA, research applications, novel systems architectures and educational experiences. Reprogrammable devices are opening up sophisticated new applications and new hardware/software trade-offs.

Michal Servit Award

FPL'2001
Aug. 27 - 29, 2001
The Queen's University,
Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK
A main focus on: Technology, Tools and Applications with a particular emphasis on DSP, Networking and Telecommunications

From Workshop to Conference. Further growth of FPL:
also the number of exhibitoirs (has more than doubled*).

Configware has become Mainstream. Again the number of regular submissions has increased*. Fast TTM: Shorter time to market by new business models thru reconfigurable platforms.
__________
*) compared to FPL-2000 at Villach (see below).
