Travel Information

There is no direct airport connection to Göttingen. The nearest airport is Hannover/Langenhagen (HAJ) with regular flights to all major international airports.

After arrival at Hannover airport, take the train to go to Göttingen. This will take 70..90 minutes including a taxi transfer from Göttingen station to the workshop site.
See the instructions below for traveling by train and how to find an appropriate train connection.

Göttingen is connected to the german high-speed railway network. ICE (InterCityExpress) trains stop at regular intervals at the main railway station.

From the railway station, take a taxi to the workshop location. The trip is about 10 minutes and costs 12..15 DM

The official timetable for the German railway DB can be found under: They have also an english version available under the same address.

For connections from Hannover airport, choose Hannover Flughafen as departure and Goettingen as destination. Take either Hannover Hbf (main railway station) or the much smaller (preferable!) Hannover Messe/Laatzen station (fairground/EXPO station) as via.
Queries will result in a S-train (S5) from airport Hannover to the choosen via and a ICE connection to Göttingen station. The S5 and the corresponding ICE always stop at both Hannover stations during the EXPO. The price is 63 DM for a single trip and takes 60..80 minutes

The workshop site is near to the motorway A7. Take exit Göttingen/Dransfeld (no. 73) and choose the direction Dransfeld (not! Göttingen). The hotel is located in a distance of about 200 meters from the exit and lies on the left side of the street.
