Oldenburg is in the north of Germany
close to Bremen. It can easily be reached:
- by car: (map)
- Highway (Autobahn) A28 and A29 merge at Oldenburg. Leave at A28 exit
Oldenburg-Haarentor, turn left to Innenstadt, after 700m turn left at
lights into Auguststraße, direction Polizeiamt, after 1 km turn left into
Industriestraße, finally turn left into Escherweg. Limited parking space is
available at the OFFIS building.
- by train:
- Oldenburg is connected to the IC net of the German Railway
(timetable query).
To most hotels you may take a public bus or taxi. To directly
go to OFFIS, you best take a taxi from the station (approx. DM 12,-).
- by plane:
- Bremen international airport is directly connected to many European cities:
Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Dresden, Frankfurt, Kopenhagen, Leipzig,
London, Munich, Nürnberg, Paris, Stuttgart, Zurich. Flights to Amsterdam,
Frankfurt and London are scheduled several times per day and provide easy
transfer to intercontinental destinations
(Lufthansa timetable).
Rental cars are available at the airport.
A shuttle service Luftibus to/from Bremen airport to/from Oldenburg is
available and will be booked for you in combination with a hotel
reservation if requested in the registration form. It takes approx. 30
minutes from the airport to your hotel. The fee depends on the number of
passengers to the same hotel and is maximum DM 50,- per trip. The fee has
to be paid directly to the driver.
